Blake Lively & Ryan Reynolds Celebrate Wedding Anniversary

Monday was a very special day for Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds: It was the couple’s one-year wedding anniversary.

The notoriously private twosome, who wed on Sept. 9, 2012 at Boone Hall Plantation in South Carolina, were seen in Charleston and Savannah, Ga., over the weekend where they went out for lunch at a local eatery and were served traditional Southern foods such as fried chicken, biscuits, macaroni and cheese and meatloaf. So that’show Blake keeps her fab figure!

The former “Gossip Girl” star, who has taken some time away from acting, spends much of her time showing off her cooking skills, posing for the cover of magazinesand being fabulous at her husband’s many movie premieres.

Unfortunately for us fans, the 26-year-old and her Canadian hubby don’t pose together very often on the red carpet.

So, in honour of their anniversary, we take a look at their best style moments together, even when Ryan was still married to Scarlett Johansson. Also, is it just a coincidence that while they were celebrating, Ryan’s ex-wife announced her engagement?

Christian Louboutin Creates Shoe for Blake Lively?

Did Christian Louboutin create a shoe for Blake Lively?

Sort of.

The fashion loving US actress was thrilled when Christian Louboutin named a pair of shoes after her.

The ‘Gossip Girl’ actress – who married film star Ryan Reynolds last year – says the famous designer was so enamored with her, he named a pair of “beautiful” shoes in her honor.

She said: “I was in his atelier in Paris after going to the couture shows for the first time and I saw these shoes. I told him they were the most beautiful things I’d seen in my entire life. The colors reminded me of ‘The Wizard of Oz’, my favorite movie.

He pulled out a marker pen, wrote my name on them and told me they would be named after me.”

The 25-year-old beauty, who is known for her impeccable style, also says she understands what works for her better than anyone and doesn’t hire stylists to dress her for red carpet events.

She added: “It can be a lot of work but it’s creatively fulfilling and a form of self-expression. I look online to pull something together for an event.”

Blake Lively is having what she calls a princess day. It began with putting on fire engine red lipstick and a pretty Panama hat and crescendoed into a tour of the Prussian palaces of Potsdam and shopping for vintage dresses. She’s in Germany to visit her husband, actor Ryan Reynolds, who’s wrapping a movie in nearby Berlin, and the past four days have been all ripped jeans and dad’s old baseball cap—tomboy days, she calls them—but this Thursday, with castles to explore and kitschy East German boutiques to plunder, Lively is feeling decidedly flirtier.“I never think about how other people will respond to the way I dress,” she says. “Dressing up is all about reflecting how I feel,” she adds—not to satisfy paparazzi. If she’s lazy, she’ll throw on a slouchy sweater and L.L. Bean moccasins. And on an aforementioned princess day? “That could call for wearing something totally inappropriate, like a beaded purse and a gorgeous pair of crystal heels just to go to the grocery store.”

With six seasons of Gossip Girl sealing her It Girl status and roles in The Town and Savages proving her acting chops, the Burbank, California, native is feeling more crystal heels than moccasins lately. She’s still riding the high of her secret wedding to Reynolds last September and her recent appointment as the face and muse for Gucci Première perfume. She is lucky enough to call her favorite musician, Florence Welch of Florence and the Machine, a close friend, and when she can’t decide which shoes to wear, she simply texts Christian Louboutin for advice. (“I’m still geeked out,” she says. “I’m like, ‘Christian, when you texted me, I took a screen grab!’ It’s crazy!”) And despite the fact that she famously has no stylist right now, she remains one of the most-hunted targets on the red carpet. Her life, in some ways, is like a Disney movie.

Blake to star in Fifty Shades of Grey?

“Gossip Girls” stars, Leighton Meester and Blake Lively have both been eyed for the lead roles in the upcoming film adaptation of Fifty Shades of Grey. While Blake has named the perfect actress for the part of Kate Kavanagh, Leighton Meester has been dubbed the perfect Anastasia Steele. Are these “Gossip Girls” really the most suitable to become the “Girls of the Grey brothers?”

Halfway through July and still no news of an official cast let alone an audition for “Fifty Shades of Grey.” Fans had been hoping for a cast since the announcement of Director Sam Taylor-Johnson joining the production team. Still, a cast has not been announced and fans are left to continue guessing who would be playing the lead roles of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele.

Of course, web polls for the iconic parts in the film adaptation continue, the latest of which involves two stars from the series, “Gossip Girl.” The beloved series “Gossip Girl” may be over and done but the career of their lead stars namely Leighton Meester and Blake Lively are far from over.

Fans have eyed these beautiful ladies as potential candidates for the lead roles in the film adaptation of E.L. James best-selling erotica novel, “Fifty Shades of Grey.” Leighton Meester has been a long-time favourite for the protagonist, Anastasia Steele.

On the other hand, Blake Lively is a strong candidate for the part of Kate Kavanagh. Given their friendship off and onscreen, it’s not surprising that fans of “Gossip Girl” think that these two can play the part of Ana and Kate easily.

With Blake being blonde and Leighton a brunette, the physical characteristics between the actresses’ and their characters are right down to a pat.

Blake Lively talks to Elle Decor about her Kitchen

Blake Lively talks to Elle Decor about her Kitchen

Blake Lively has recently moved homes and is settling into married life with hubby Ryan Reynolds. The actress is featured in the latest issue of ELLE Décor, speaking about her new house.

Describing her new pad, she says: “The location is great. And we loved the kitchen. It’s really the family room.”

She also confesses that she has some competition when it comes to using the oven too. Whilst she says that she uses it the most, she adds “But I’ll have to fight my mom for it. She is an amazing chef. We’ve got a big family, and we’re very close. My brothers are great at the pies and the girls usually do the savory things.”

When it came to the design of her house, she did it herself and trusted her instincts. “You have to go with your instinct. If you don’t try it, you end up doing it later anyway, and then you end up paying to do it twice! There are things that I just have to try. And yes, sometimes it doesn’t work, but I really think you should just do what makes you happy.”

Picking a color was the hardest decision to make though, and while she considered fuchsia and oxblood, she eventually settled on ‘ocean blue’ (a hue that, incidentally, is not listed on the La Cornue website, so may be a custom shade). ‘I wanted something daring but also timeless,’ she explained. ‘I wanted to feel like I could change up other parts of the kitchen and the oven would remain classic.

‘At first I thought a fuchsia or oxblood, but the blue seems like a bold color that’s still grounded, because it has a little bit of a grey undertone.’

Classic it may be, but a blue range is still a bold choice, indicating that Ms Lively is prepared to take the same risks with her home as she is with her fashion choices. ‘You have to go with your instinct,’ she advised. ‘If you don’t try it, you end up doing it later anyway, and then you end up paying to do it twice!  ‘There are things that I just have to try. And yes, sometimes it doesn’t work, but I really think you should just do what makes you happy.’

Vogue – June 2010 Article

I can’t quite recall the disquieting moment when I realized that they were, in fact, all around me. I knew that Cameron Diaz broke her nose doing it and was unsurprised to discover that Stefano Pilati is very, very good at it. I was amazed to hear that my friend Holly Peterson travels to the ends of the Earth in pursuit of it and that Cynthia Rowley fashions clothing expressly for it. I knew that Damien Hirst’s partner, Maia, is gaga for it but that he’d rather just watch, and I was frankly dumbfounded that both Barneys’ gnomish Simon Doonan and Vanity Fair‘s Falstaffian Graydon Carter each had a go—and with the same happy band of practitioners, no less.

Instead of a Mason’s handshake or the furtive double glance of pre-Stonewall Temperamentals, an evangelical glint in the eye helped me recognize these cultists. Their faces would take on a beatific cast when I raised the subject, and in reverent tones they evoked otherworldly pleasures beyond the ken of ordinary mortals. And now I was about to be abducted into this bitchin’ netherworld of tubes, lips, and barrels.

Ben Affleck On Blake Lively In The Town

Blake Lively never made it to the snowy mountains of the Sundance Film Festival, but her name was heard up and down Main Street, uttered by some of the biggest names in Hollywood. Ryan Reynolds declared that the Gossip Girl beauty is going to be “flawless” opposite him in the comic book adaptation, Green Lantern.

And Ben Affleck, who cast Blake last summer in The Town, had nothing but kind things to say about the 22-year-old actress, even though he’s never caught a single episode of the TV show that made her a star.

“I have never seen Gossip Girl, I have to say,” he admitted. “I saw The Private Lives of Pippa Lee, which she’s really, really great in and she’s great in my movie.”

Esquire – February 2010 Article & Outtakes

The most significant consequence of Gossip Girl may be the rise of its lead blond, who’s about to become a serious movie star.

The guest on the late-night talk show crosses her long, bare legs. No one is looking at her. Her segment is done, and she has moved to the second couch, the one that’s hardly ever used. She’s alone. The host, he’s over with the guest who came on after her, the scrawny, aging heavy-metal drummer, and they’re rocking out with the house band, and all the cameras — there are so many cameras at these shows, way more than you’d think — have rolled over to the other side of the stage, and the audience, college kids and tourist couples hopped up on blinking APPLAUSE signs and instructions to be enthusiastic, is watching the host and the aging drummer as they goof around with a guitar. The up-and-coming actress, who has apparently decided to hang out after her interview and watch the rest of the show, sits on that other couch, clapping her hands — stiff palms and splinted fingers, like seal flippers — even though not one person, except for her publicist and her publicist’s subpublicists watching in the wings, is paying her any mind.

W Magazine – December 2008

Blake Lively is features in the december issue of W Magazine, she’s on the cover 🙂 . I have the cover for you and some shoots pictures. I will try to add the scans as soon as possible, since I live in sweden it takes a month longer for the magazines to come here. You can read the article from the magazine futher down. Here are som previews of the photoshoots images.

Levelheaded Blake Lively is emerging as the buzziest (and busiest) of the Gossip Girl gang.

Blake Lively is a starving artist. “I’m hungry. You hungry? Let’s meet at Sant Ambroeus,” she says, by way of cell phone introduction. Within minutes she’s stepping out of a taxi, an endless stream of legs and golden hair. The pint-size ristorante in New York’s West Village is, on a Saturday afternoon, predictably packed with the type of diners who are too cool to freak out about the numero uno Gossip Girl but not so jaded that they don’t notice her. Over the course of the next hour and a half, only a mother and her trembling tween daughter openly fawn over Lively. Sure, a guy at the next table chats her up, but that’s only because he really, really needs to know if he should order the eggplant appetizer that the gorgeous 21-year-old is digging into with gusto.
